Beckham Director Set to Get Sassy |

 LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Gurinder Chadha, director of the hit soccer comedy "Bend It Like Beckham," has signed up to direct "Sassy Girl" for DreamWorks and Maverick Films.
"Sassy," a remake of a South Korean romantic comedy, is based on a real-life anonymous diary. Brought together by fate, a naive boy falls under the spell of a beautiful, sassy girl as he helps her through hardship, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Chadha is currently filming the Bollywood musical version of "Pride and Prejudice," titled "Bride and Prejudice," for Pathe U.K. and Miramax. Chadha is also developing "I Dream of Jeannie" at Columbia, "Tucker Ames" at Fox 2000 and "Nine Wives" for New Line Cinema.
"Beckham" scored $32.5 million at the domestic box office and earned a Golden Globe nomination for best comedy/musical. |
