Ilene Hamann is Bollywood's Blonde Bombshell and she is ready to explode. The South African model, who makes her Hindi film debut in Pooja Bhatt's Rog, says she may or may not continue working in India.
While shooting for Rog, what was the greatest difficulty you
faced?
I had a huge problem speaking Hindi throughout the shoot. Although I underwent a
15-day crash course in the language, I got stuck when it came to the really difficult
words.
Had you seen any Hindi film before you were offered the role in Rog?
No. I have started watching Hindi films only after coming down to Mumbai.
How do you relate to the character that you play in the film?
I found it very difficult to cry on the sets. I have never been required to shed
tears for any assignment that I have done so far and was therefore unable to do
so. I am a very happy-go-lucky kind of a person in real life and crying doesn't
come to me naturally.
How popular are Indian films in South Africa?
They are becoming quite popular. In fact lot of Hindi films get shown at theatres
there. I watched films like Jism and Murder after I got
the offer to act in Bollywood and really enjoyed myself.
Have you exposed in Rog?
There was nothing really out of the ordinary in the film. As a model I
am used to exposing.
What are your future plans? Will you be working in other Bollywood movies?
I first want to finish the film that I have in hand and wait to see the
box office response. Only after that will I know if I want to continue in Bollywood
or not. |
