Atlanta -- It was a passionate night filled with grace, poise, talent and cause. The WAVES
2004 concert, held on March 13, left hearts warmed and smiles on faces.
WAVES 2004 was created in an effort to raise proceeds for the Robin Raina Foundation,
a charity that raises funds for underprivileged children. Robin Raina, founder
of the organization, shared a vision after experiencing a broken heart. His
broken heart was a result of witnessing malnourished, sick, disabled, and underprivileged
children on the streets of India. Raina’s dream is to provide those children
with health, happiness, and the ability to create bright futures.

Shezi Sardar, Atlanta’s very own star and winner of “Boogie Woogie” says, “The concept
of the Robin Raina Foundation is a genuine attempt to uplift the children
of India. It is both an honor and a privilege to be a part of the first
event that the organization has organized. Ultimately,
the goal is to help the community realize that every dollar and every nickel is
going to a cause that is very badly needed.”
WAVES 2004 was a musical, fashion, and dance extravaganza. Some of the
featured performers included Bollywood’s very own singer, Bali Brambhatt.
Brambhatt, the creator of “Patel Rap”, “Kem Che”, and many other music delights,
put forth an amazing performance that truely lit up the stage. He was very
interactive, down to earth, and he definitely captured the audience.
Joining Brambhatt were some of Bollywoods most beautiful models and actresses.
Strutting their stuff on stage were Anupama Verma, Indrani Dasgupta, Purvi, Mehak,
Sandhya, and performer Shweta. Sardar also gave not one, but a few smashing
presentations. Along with Sardar, an incredible dance crew called “Silent
Killers” also performed well. However, it seems the choreography of “Silent
Killers” was a bit risqué for the audience.

Over all, the fundraiser was a great success. The many businesses and individuals
that donated, supported, volunteered, and performed at the concert all contributed
and caused a wonderful turnout. It was a consensus among volunteers that everyone
worked diligently in bringing the show together.
At the end of the show, Raina spoke to the audience with an open heart. He
said, “All of you have smiles on your faces. We need to make an effort to put
smiles on the faces of children in India.” Raina is set out to make a difference
because he realized that no amount of financial gain that a person may have can
guarantee happiness. Helping a cause and giving to those in need equals and
guarantees true happiness; that cannot be taken away.
